ActiveSMART is an industry leading S.M.A.R.T. diagnostic and failure prediction software for hard drives and disk space usage tool. It uses S.M.A.R.T. (Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology) to monitor the health status of Hard Disk Drives, monitors the drives temperature, free space, bad blocks, read and write errors, prevents data loss and predicts possible drive fails, using special algorithms.
Active SMART has several monitoring modes and is intended for both personal and extensive computer systems use. Various local and remote monitoring modes and alerting options are available.
Active SMART allows every hard drive in the system to be monitored 24 hours a day for faults, overheating or other hazardous factors that may lead to a crash. In case of error detection, there is a range of alerting options available: local (pop up messages, sound) and remote (e-mail or network messenger).
Use the same version of ActiveSMART on notebooks and desktop PC. It support power saving mode and save battery life.

Every hard disk is too small if you just wait long enough. TreeSize Free tells you where precious space has gone to.
TreeSize Free can be started from the context menu of a folder or drive and shows you the size of this folder, including its subfolders. You can expand this folder in Explorer-like style and you will see the size of every subfolder. All results can also be drilled down to the file level. Scanning is done in a thread, so you can already see results while TreeSize Free is working. The Explorer context menu is supported within TreeSize, as well as the usual drag & drop operations. The disk space tool now also includes the main feature of our discontinued freeware NTFSRatio: TreeSize Free can display the NTFS compression rate.

Worried about hard drive failures? Get HDDlife – a real-time hard drive monitoring utility with alerts, malfunction protection and data loss prevention functions. Supporting both magnetic and solid-state disks, this hard drive inspector offers advanced proactive hard drive failure detection system controlling all of your hard drive risks. HDDlife uses S.M.A.R.T. technology, works both for single PCs and large computer networks and supports desktop and mobile hard drives, SSD disks, external storage and USB enclosures.
The S.M.A.R.T. technology was jointly developed by different hard drive manufacturers to accurately predict hard drive life span and prevent HDD malfunction. HDDlife reads and displays S.M.A.R.T. attributes in real-time, alerting a system administrator if particular hard-drive attributes exceed threshold values, putting the data stored on these drives at a risk. The system administrator can then backup data and/or replace endangered hard drives.
HDDlife loads with Windows, compares new attribute values with previously stored values and consumes absolutely no memory. The program is extremely straightforward – no fundamental knowledge of PC or hard drive technology is needed whatsoever. 100% FREE to download and try.
